These terms do not apply to third-party servers, applications, or websites accessed through these services. Those services are governed by their own terms.
These services are intended for users aged 16 and over. If it is learned that a person under 16 holds an account, that account will be removed.
By using these services, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
You are responsible for your account, including keeping your password secure and for activity that occurs under your account.
You may leave a room, leave a space, or delete your account at any time, through the application you use, or by contacting the operator.
You retain ownership of content you publish through these services.
Much of the content published through these services is public by design, or is shared with other servers through federation. Atproto posts are public records and are intended to be replicated by relays and other applications. Messages in federated Matrix and XMPP rooms are transmitted to the other servers involved.
Deleting a post or message removes it from this server. Copies already held by other servers, relays, or applications cannot be deleted by the operator of harshnoise.social.
End-to-end encrypted rooms, where enabled, are addressed in the Privacy Policy. The hub room is intentionally unencrypted to permit relaying between XMPP, Matrix, and Discord, and must not be treated as private.
You agree not to use these services to:
The operator may remove content, restrict access to a room, or close an account that violates these terms, or that threatens the operation or safety of the services.
Where feasible, the operator will explain the reason for a moderation action on request, by contacting the operator at the address above.
These services are provided as-is, without guarantee of continuous availability. The operator may change, suspend, or discontinue a service, in whole or in part, with notice where feasible.
No payment is required to use these services. Voluntary support, where offered, is described on the support page and does not create a service guarantee.
Material changes to these terms will be reflected in an updated effective date at the top of this page, and notice will be posted in the announcements channel and in #general on Matrix, with a link to the updated terms. The version published at harshnoise.social/terms is the current version.
